Managed public event facilities for over thirty years, including arenas, theaters, amphitheaters and convention centers; earned his BA, from East Texas State University in 1976 and his MPA, also from East Texas State University in 1978.  Worked for and with cities, counties, management companies and not for profit corporations:  Opened and operated four successful public event facilities including start-up staffing, equipment purchasing, promotions, financial systems, contracts, ADA compliance and union negotiations.

Tammy Dooley,
 Vice President Marketing and PromotionsTammy works in all aspects of DMC.  As Co-Owner and Vice-President she oversees the direction of sales & marketing, administration, event promotions and food & beverage operations.  She has worked and co-owned DMC since 1993.  A graduate of Tarleton State University (Part of the A&M System). She holds a Bachelors of Applied Arts and Sciences Degree in Business Occupations.

She is a member of Zeta Lambda Chapter of Delta Mu Delta the National Honor Society in Business Administration and was recognized as being top in her COBA class.

Very active in numerous communities, she has served on the Glen Rose Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board, is a past member of Earth Promise/Fossil Rim Board of Directors, past President of Laureate Iota Sigma, Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was elected Woman of the Year and Chapter Sweetheart in 2003 and 2004. Tammy serves as a Director on the Midland County Fair Board, serves on the SEAM (Sports Entertainment Association Midland) Board of Directors, along with serving as Publicity Chairman and Founder's Day Coordinator, Extention Officer for Beta Mu Delta Chapter of BSP Sorority. She is a member of the Somervell County History Foundation and TAF&E, Texas Association of Fair's and Events and Texas Association of Venues and Facilities.


Amber Bass, Assistant Manager

Amber Bass

Amber began with DMC in the Food &  Beverage Department. She has extensive experience, and at The Horseshoe quickly began to learn the ins and outs of event requirements. Amber was soon promoted to F&B Coordinator/Administrative Assistant and juggled both with ease and efficiency, she has since been promoted to Assistant Manager. Amber has a great sense of understanding of numbers and maintains all the reporting data required in such a busy position.  She is thorough, efficient and customer oriented. She has an "Upbeat/Positive" attitude that makes customers and employees alike feel good about being part of The Horseshoe & DMC Team.  One of four girls, she was born in Florida and grew up in Alpine, Texas.  Amber loves to travel, read and watch movies and hopes to have a large family in the future. 


We are excited about having her on the team in Midland and watching her grow both personally and professionally with DMC. Amber currently serves on the Midland County Fair Steering Committee and is very involved in the successful coordination of over 130 events each year, including organization of all of the vendors at the Midland County Fair.
 

                                                          

 

Richard “Rick” Woody, Operations Manager        Horseshoe Arena Midland

Richard "Rick" Woody serves as Operations Manager of the Midland Horseshoe Arena. Rick came to DMC with over eighteen years experience in the public facility management field. He received his Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at San Antonio, International Business and Marketing. His BBA is in Management, graduating Cum Laude. Professionally, Rick graduated from I.A.A.M. School for Public Assembly Facility Managers in 94’95. His experience is extensive and most recently includes Building Manager at University of Texas at San Antonio University Center where he managed 14 event rooms of various capacities and hosted over 3000 events per year. He is also returning to Midland as he previously held the Operations Manager position at the Midland Center. We are proud of his many achievements including being awarded “City Council Award for Service”: City of Temple, “Confederate Air Force Service Award”: Midland, Texas and “Celebration of the Arts-Committee Chair-“Outstanding Volunteer”.  Rick is married to Laurie, they have 6 Children and soon to be "10" grandchildren. If he has spare time…he enjoys tournament bass fishing and music where he is a percussionist. Rick currently serves on the Midland County Fair Steering Committee and is a 2010 LAEC Footing Acadmey graduate and a member of Texas Association of Venues and Facilities.
