The Horseshoe Arena Wins 1st Place National Tourism Week "Midland Sights" 2009 Photo Contest! 
1st Place "Midland Sights" Winner of the National Tourism Week 2009 Photo Contest sponsored by the Midland Convention & Visitors Bureau, visitmidlandtexas.com The photo was taken by Dooley Management Companies, Vice-President Marketing and Promotions, Mrs. Tammy Dooley in the very early morning hours prior to band tour buses arrival for a concert night at the Midland County Horseshoe Arena. Mrs. Dooley was quoted as saying "West Texas has provided more photography opportunities than anywhere I have traveled. It seems every trip to Midland offers another sunset, or weather occurance, cloud formation, etc...". Additionally she said, "Between the natural beauty of the West Texas area and the numerous Horseshoe event photo opportunities, our photo catalog is quite appealing." The award was received at an unveiling reception Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Midland, Texas Chamber of Commerce. Horseshoe Facility Manager, Rick Woody and Asst. Manager, Amber Bass accepted the award on behalf of The Midland County Horseshoe Arena and Mrs. Dooley.
